Team Rocket Capture AR game OR Pokemon Care Garden/Interactive forest

Just quick notes

DSi (needs 2 cameras and mic or at least 1 camera and touch panel)

- Using DSi to walk around your place/garden/school whatever and see pokemon.
- Camera sees surroundings and places pokemon appropriately. Birds in air, pikachu in grass etc
- Microphone picks up noise. have to be quiet to sneak up on pokemon. from behind (can only sneak up on pokemon facing wrong way. Ones facing you run when they see the tools) Too much noise makes them flee
- Use interactive screen to select net and capture
- OR similar to pokemon ranger and use looping motions like the stylus but with lasso.

Could also NOT be Team Rocket. Could be friendly kid

- Interaction system like Nintendogs after pokemon become friendly
- Relationships gained with 'bribes' (candy, fruit, toys for pokemon)
- Can approach from any direction but still if you're too noisy, they run unless they trust you (friendly)
- Can customise them (clothes, hair dye or whatever) to define friends from unknown ones.

MY IDEA!! DON'T STEAL :P

If anyone feels like helping me implement something similar, Just message me

VR interactive info person

While on my bus journey home, I thought some more about the possibilities of sensor activated technology and where it can be implemented.

In a library? Technology Expo?

Imagine a glass panel with a character projected on (in?) the glass. With 3 embedded (behind the glass? above?) cameras, it could recognise who you are via a face recognition with the database within the building (ID cards w/ pictures etc) or scan for a chip in your ID card and assume that is you.

The character could interact with you on a VR basis. Look directly at your face (Kinect style body recognition)
Have keyword recognition. It could ask questions and you saying 'yes' or 'no' would make it react differently.

Library in our college example:

Scan you (or card)
"Hello <Name>. What would you like to do? Return Book? Extend Loan Time? Enquire about availability?"
"Return Book"
"Ok, Please scan the bar code on the book"
So you scan the book
"Thank you. Please place the book in the slot to the left"

Done

Or

If you enquire about it's availability, it would tell you on what shelf it should be on. If it is out, it could tell you when it's due back in and you can ask for a notification for when it's back. Reserve the book automatically till you're back.

At an Expo, it's information is pre determined. All it has to do is look at you, scan your chip and spew the information back at you. Nothing difficult

How difficult would this be to implement?

Customise Everything!

While tidying my PCs wires and cables inside, I exclaimed that you should be able to buy the cables for the components in different lengths and designs. I have a lot of spare cables and useless Molex connections hanging around.

For Example:
- I only use 1 molex in my PC. For the side fan. It's attached to a cable with 4 other unused molex which are untidy.
- There is a 5 inch gap between my power supply and my Blu ray drive and a 1.5 foot cable. I have a lot of spare cable.
-I have 1 internal hard drive and it uses 1 power port. It is on a length of 4 other unused power ports.

My boyfriend has a modular power supply so he can have the cables he wants so he doesn't have lots of other spare cables hanging around. Even so,the cables he does have plugged in have the same issue. Too long or short with lots of extra unused connections which look untidy.

I would love a modular power supply which has a better plug in interface than the current ones (the cables are too far apart and it makes tidying impossible) and the ability to specify how long I want the supplied cables to be and a dedicated store to selling custom lengths of cable. I want to be able to buy a 7 inch molex cable with only 1 molex connection

On a similar note; Motherboards.

Most PC innards have the same problem: everything looks good apart from 1 or 2 things. You find another component with those 1 or 2 things but now something else is missing.

My motherboard has everything I want plus a firewire connection I'm NEVER going to use. I should be able to choose to not have that port and save money on the motherboard for no having it. I also want some of the holes for mounts to be somewhere else and the component slots to be elsewhere. A different orientation. Have my graphics card slot coming out the top maybe?

I want to be able to specify if I want more fan ports and more USB headders, more 6G/b SATA ports. Choose what CPU socket and basically customise the entire board.

Enthusiasts and gamers would pay for these boards. It would enable the best hardware to be installed without having useless ports and outdated sockets taking up space.

It would revolutionise boards.
