VR interactive info person

While on my bus journey home, I thought some more about the possibilities of sensor activated technology and where it can be implemented.

In a library? Technology Expo?

Imagine a glass panel with a character projected on (in?) the glass. With 3 embedded (behind the glass? above?) cameras, it could recognise who you are via a face recognition with the database within the building (ID cards w/ pictures etc) or scan for a chip in your ID card and assume that is you.

The character could interact with you on a VR basis. Look directly at your face (Kinect style body recognition)
Have keyword recognition. It could ask questions and you saying 'yes' or 'no' would make it react differently.

Library in our college example:

Scan you (or card)
"Hello <Name>. What would you like to do? Return Book? Extend Loan Time? Enquire about availability?"
"Return Book"
"Ok, Please scan the bar code on the book"
So you scan the book
"Thank you. Please place the book in the slot to the left"

Done

Or

If you enquire about it's availability, it would tell you on what shelf it should be on. If it is out, it could tell you when it's due back in and you can ask for a notification for when it's back. Reserve the book automatically till you're back.

At an Expo, it's information is pre determined. All it has to do is look at you, scan your chip and spew the information back at you. Nothing difficult

How difficult would this be to implement?
